The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 Purify your inner self, 4 and flee from the statues! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 It scorches people's skin 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
