The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And pollution shun. 5 Do not bestow favours in expectation of return, 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 And made things easy for them. 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 Nay, verily, it is against Our messages that he knowingly, stubbornly sets himself 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 May he be condemned! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
