The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O THOU [in thy solitude] enfolded! 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And your garments purify! 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 And made things easy for them. 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 We have made only angels as the keepers of the fire (for they are the strongest in carrying out Our commands). Our informing (people) of the numbers of these angels is a trial for the disbelievers. It gives more certainty to the people of the Book and strengthens the faith of the believers. The people of the Book and the believers have no doubt about it. We have fixed the number to make the disbelievers and those whose hearts are sick say, "What does God mean by such a parable?" Thus, God guides and causes to go astray whomever He wants. No one knows about the army of your Lord except He Himself. This parable is a reminder for mankind. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
