The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise, and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And made things easy for them. 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
