The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Rise up and warn! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 it will be a hard day 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons present by his side. 13 And made things easy for them. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Lo! He reflected, and determined -- 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; 28 Burning the skins! 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
