The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 and purify your clothing, 4 stay away from sins 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he thought; 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 This is naught else than speech of mortal man. 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
