The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn, 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 and purify your robes, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 Do not bestow favours in expectation of return, 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He reflected and then hatched a scheme. 18 May he be condemned! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire. We have specified their number only as a trial for those who are bent on denying the truth, so that those who were given the Book might gain in certainty, and those who believe might increase in faith -- and so that neither those who have been given the Scripture nor the believers might have any doubts, and that those sick at heart and those who deny the truth might ask, "What does God mean by this parable?" In this way, God lets go astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. And none knows the forces of your Lord but He. This is but a Reminder for man. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
