The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 and for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 it will be a hard day 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he thought; 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
