Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to humans, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 about the sinners. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
