By the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
