No, by the moon! 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
