NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What took you into the hell?" 42 They said, "We never used to offer the prayer." 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 "And used to deny the Day of Justice." 46 Until the certainty of death had come upon us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
