By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 a warning to humankind, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
