By no means! By the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 About the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
