Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 From the guilty. 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
