By no means! By the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 it is a warning to man, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About the criminals, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until death approached us". 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 running away from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
