Nay! By the moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning for people -- 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
