Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to humans, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
