I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About the guilty: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
