NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
