No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as if they were startled asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear.
