By the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 Warn the men. 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until death approached us". 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
