I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning to mankind, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
