▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 a warning to mortal man 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 in Gardens they will question 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
