Nay! By the moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
