▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
By the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 about the sinners. 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
