By no means! By the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
