Nay, by the Moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning for people -- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Till death overtook us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 running away from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
