Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 Warn the men. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
