Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
