Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
