Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
