Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
