Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
