Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
