Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
