Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
