Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
