Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
