Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
