Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
