Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
