Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
