Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
