Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
