Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
