Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
