Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
