Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
