Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
